We are still in October, the breast cancer awaneress month. It is so difficult to say why breast cancer has made so harm to many families. Maybe because a woman is the center of a family and breast cancer is still killing so much women: There are still so much women diagnosed with breast cancer each year who need our support. I could be one of them tomorrow.
October challenge in Aurora Wings is "Pink Ribbon" in honor to this month. Here in Spain the doctors say to someone diagnosed something like although you have cancer in your life, you musn't make cancer the only thing that happens in your days while you are being treated.
Like all my mixed media projects, I tried to include layer of papers, flowers, gesso, embossing paste,... lot's of textures.
You can see my pink ribbon interpretation, with some lace and a flower.
I tried to make something femenine, pink, with a pink ribbon, but not as pink as obvious to make the cancer the focal point of the composition. I tried to add a pink lace, but not as obvious. The flowers are pink, but not as pink, and so on.
The image is White Poppy, from Aurora Wings. I colored it with the distress copic technik, that you can learn in the Copic Europe oficial classes.
Poppies: R22, R20, R00. W5
I hope you like it, I think a lot about this image and this project, and this was my interpretation. Be brave women, and touch yourselves!
