This notebook was a present for my cousin, Sara, who lived in Spain years ago. Now she is in USA and cames here only a few weeks per year, on Summer and Christmas time. Sara is always helping me to find my scrap tools: I buy them in the USA where she lives, and she collects all my parcels with my stamps, dies, embossing folders, non-stick scissors and so on, and bring them to me on her holidays in Spain. Isn't she lovely? So I had to make for her a beautiful present, because I feel so thankful about her cares with my scrap tools.
I made a shabby chic notebook, I wasn't very sure about this style would fits her, but anyway, I did my best and I tried to make something beautiful, sooo beautiful, with some mixed media touches and lots of flowers.
I also atached some metallic charms to the binding, as well as ribbon and laces.
Some lace on the cover, pearls, flowers, pinecones, and a beautiful diecut with some roses and a vintage birdcage, instead of a sentiment or a coloured digi. I love this diecut.
I covered the edges and the flowers with some white gesso. A golden elastic band keeps closed the notebook.
The back is simple, in order to be able to write inside the pages.
Inside, I have used a stack of sheets from Scrapiniec. I also inserted some decorated papers between the sheets, to make it more funny.
I hope you have enjoyed the photographs, and that this notebook inspires you to make something similar for your friends. With all my love, Sara.
